When Charles Horn came across a failing ammunition factory in 1922, he believed he could turn it around, so he refounded it as Federal and began a marketing campaign. He started by selling ammunition in grocery stores, gas stations, and barber shops, and before long Federal became a well known name in the gun world. Eventually Federal was awarded a government contract to build and operate the Twin City Ordnance Plant, and they ended up supplying the U.S. military with ammo through World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam. They were awarded an Army-Navy “E” for excellence for their efforts, and today that determination and dedication to quality continues.
These particular Federal rounds are meant for your 12 gauge shotgun. Each round has a 1 1/8 ounce load, which provides plenty of power to propel projectiles to your target with substantial force without the greater recoil of larger 1 ¼ ounce loads. These rounds are 2 ¾” long and filled with #9 lead shot. Each round delivers a muzzle velocity of 1145 feet per second. These are Federal’s Target loads and are specifically designed for shattering clays, so if you enjoy skeet shooting, these rounds are for you.
There are 25 rounds in this single box of ammunition from Federal. With 25 rounds you can shatter clays for a bit and give your shotgun a snack, or you can order multiple boxes and spend far more time at your favorite pastime. Keep in mind that these are lead shot rounds and are not meant for hunting waterfowl. Federal manufactures ammunition at their longtime plant in Anoka, Minnesota, according to exacting standards. All ammunition undergoes rigorous testing and must pass strict quality control measures. Whether you want to shatter clays or use these rounds to punch holes in paper and pop cans, get your order in and spend some quality time with your shotgun.
