Each shell consists of a sub-caliber slug (essentially a giant bullet) wrapped in a plastic sleeve that engages with the shotgun's barrel and falls away as the payload leaves the gun. This configuration results in extraordinary accuracy at the cost of projectile weight. In order to counteract the lower weight of the sabot slug, Brenneke designed Red Magic slugs with a broad frontal face that will knock an animal down cleanly with one well placed shot.
Each shell in this box of 5 propels a one ounce sabot slug at a muzzle velocity of 1,584 feet per second. This results in excellent accuracy out to 100 yards and beyond!
Brenneke slugs are made in Germany and assembled into complete shells in the USA. The Brenneke company has been around since the 1890s and specializes in performance shotgun slug ammunition.
