Each 3" shell in this box of 25 fires a 1-1/4 ounce payload of BB shot at a muzzle velocity of 1,400 feet per second. BB shot is relatively large, with a diameter of about 0.18 inches, making it more effective against larger waterfowl than birdshot. Like many waterfowl loads optimized for longer-range hunting, these shells produce somewhat above-average recoil.
Winchester Super-X shotshells are loaded in Oxford, Mississippi using one-piece hinged wads (which produce tighter patterns and cut down on felt recoil) and 209 primers, which are known for their reliability.
