Dead Shells
Review by Leigh -
I have tried these shells, and although they were inexpensive they are dead. I don't know if the primers are bad, but I took the gun to a gunsmith to be sure there wasn't a problem with the gun. He loaded several shells of another brand into my gun and had no problem. (Posted on 10/5/12)Ammo Performance Bargain? Reliable?

Q: do you consider the oo as good or better than the #3 buck? why or why not?
Posted On: 11/15/11 By: greg
A: Yes, 00 buck is an excellent choice and one we would pick over #3 because it is larger in diameter, resulting in greater penetration. However, #3 buck is a great load in its own right. Both can be very effective if used properly.
Q: I was curious why these are so much cheaper than #3 from Federal and Remington for the 20 gauge. Is it just the name? Does 00 cost less to produce? Or is this just a new and untested product?

A: Rio Royal ammunition has been produced in Spain since 1896 and sold throughout Europe. It is quality, tested ammunition, but is relatively unknown in the US market, and is thus priced competitively.
Q: what is the 20 Gage round most used for?
Posted On: 9/29/11 By: Nathan Tompkins
A: 20 Gauge ammo is used for home defense, clays, skeet, trap, upland game hunting, waterfowl hunting, among other things. It is ideal for those who do not want to or cannot deal with the heavier recoil of a 12 gauge shotgun.
Q: What pellet size is this load using? 9 pellets of OO typically is a 12ga load not 20ga. The picture of the larger white label shows that it's 9 pellets but I don't see the pellet size. This questions will also apply to the 250rd unit of this as well.

A: This 20 gauge ammo does indeed feature 9 pellets of 00 buck due to a shot cup design that is unique to Rio Royal. The velocity is 1345fps, which is faster than some 12 gauge 9 pellet 00 buck loads.
