Details

This 223 Rem cartridge by Golden Bear is made at the Barnaul Cartridge Plant in Russia. True to Russian form, it has got a steel shell casing that makes it accessibly priced, but the casing is plated with brass to enhance its lubricity for easy feeding in a semi-automatic as well as amplify its ability to resist tarnishing and corrosion. It’s a best of both worlds situation, provided that your best world encompasses magnetic casings which you can’t reload.

This round’s 62 grain bullet’s magnetic bimetal jacket stops short to reveal its soft lead core. As the bullet connects with a soft medium, such as that which coyote and other varmints are made of, it will react by widening and subsequently tumbling to inflict accentuated damage. Such a bullet is not in the least unsuitable for home defense as well, and this ammo’s great value makes it a prime selection for range shooting as well. It will only leave you wanting more of it!

A: My apologies Ralph, but Barnaul does not share that info and I can't calculate BC with a round's muzzle velocity alone. We've yet to chronograph this ammo, but I would estimate its BC is a little less than what an M855 round typically offers given its slightly lower muzzle velocity and less aerodynamic meplat.
