Details

Looking for some respite from the incredibly high prices of your normal 30-06 ammunition? The Golden Bear can help you with that. The looks of the cartridge are slightly deceiving but the performance is directly in line with your expectations. What appears to be a brass casing, is in fact a brass plated steel case, allowing Golden Bear to cut the costs considerably to deliver you a fun to shoot, cheaper alternative to your normal range loads. Instead of relegating the old .30-06 to a few times a year in the field hunting big game, now it makes sense to pull it out at the range more often.

Note this steel cartridge with Berdan priming Is technically able to be reloaded, it just doesn’t make sense to given the extra work needed and the now, lowered costs of buying more ammunition to replace it. The fit and finish of the rounds is excellent for the price point, and while it may not be perfect for match guns that operate on the tightest tolerances, it is absolutely worthwhile in hunting rifles, competition rifles and any type of .30-06 where the steel case won’t be a concern to picky shooters.

The steel myths have all been busted, so it’s time to start embracing the cost savings and putting some of these downrange with your favorite rifles. As a hunting option: 2790 feet per second puts this in a good range for the heartiest of large game animals.
