Each bullet features a polymer tip that drives into the lead core upon impact, creating controlled expansion and high weight retention every time. The bullet also features a boat tail shape which helps to improve accuracy and trajectory at long distances. Basically, this bullet has every thing you could ever want from a hunting round.
The 150 grain bullet leaves the muzzle at a velocity of approximately 2820 feet per second with muzzle energy of 2648 foot pounds. Q: Do you guys ever get this in a 30/06? Been trying for a long time to find some, with very little luck

A: Thank you for reaching out Michael! We have recently carried Hornady Superformance 150gr SST (sku 81093) and Hornady Custom Lite 125gr SST (sku 81066) 30-06 ammunition. I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time getting what you need, and wish I could promise when we'll get it back in stock. We will certainly purchase Hornady's 30-06 ammo whenever the opportunity presents itself. I hope you'll check back in with us – we'll certainly have acceptable 30-06 hunting ammo of some sort or another back in our warehouse soon!
Q: Will these work well in my 7.62 AR platform

A: Thanks for reaching out Marc! I can't confidently recommend ammo for a rifle that I know so little about, but there's no reason I can think of why this ammo shouldn't function correctly in your AR. SAAMI does not consider it unsafe to fire the commercial 308 Win round in firearms chambered for 7.62x51.
