Details

Due to heavy use by law enforcement, Speer Gold Dot ammo is one of the most recognized lines and their .40 S&W 155 grain bullet is no exception to Gold Dot’s usual quality. Lewiston, Idaho based Speer sets its Gold Dot bullets apart from others with an exclusive bonded core construction that melds a copper jacket to the lead core at the molecular level.

Virtually no separation of the jacket can occur or fragment from the lead core in this .40 round, almost fully retaining the bullet’s full 155 grain weight as it penetrates, on average, 16” on impact. Now add Speer’s two-stage hollow point construction. Expansion of the hollow point is controlled by both fluting the bullet and then finishing the cavity for extremely consistent performance even through several layers of clothing, including whatever leather and denim your assailant might be wearing.

With non-corrosive, reliable CCI primers, clean-burning powder, nickel-plated brass casings for smooth feeding, and a muzzle velocity of 1200 fps, this round is a solid choice you can count on for self-defense and home protection.

A: Thanks for reaching out Vanessa! I am not a lawyer, I am not qualified to give legal advice, and no information offered on this website is meant to be construed as legal advice. That said, it is my understanding that hollow point bullets are indeed legal in the state of California. I regret that California state law has made it impossible for us to ship ammo there, however.
