Q: in 45ACP ammo what is the difference of Boxer primed and small pistol primed ?
Posted On: 3/27/12 By: Ron Landry
A: Boxer is the type of primer, and small pistol is the size. Most .45ACP ammo has large pistol primers, but recently some has come on the market with small pistol primer pockets in the brass case, and small pistol primers will be needed to reload them. Both are boxer primers, non-corrosive, and capable of being reloaded - one must simply remember to use the correct size when reloading.
