Ordering was simple and delivery was fast! Federal has always made top quality ammo. Price point was good, not great, but not so bad I would have given it only four stars. Would gladly shop here again if I find BULKAMMO.COM carries 5.56 NATO ever again. I really would like to see you carry the Lake City 1,000 round cases of 62 grain steel penetrator... perhaps some 1,000 round boxes of a good JHP hunting round too? Go my order fast, and as expected. Federal ammo is alway reliable and this was a good deal for non metal core bullets. Ranges are not allowing steel cored rounds any more, so I have more than enough for the upcoming zombie infestation while keeping my skills up on the range with these rounds. I ordered this loose 1,000 rounds from bulkammo.com. They shipped quickly after submitting the order, and I had the package on my doorstep in 3 days. As for the ammo, I'm almost through with all 1,000 rounds. I shoot two Colt LE6920-type rifles and a Sig Sauer M400 using BCM magazines. Q: Will the Federal XM193BK ammo pass the 'magnet test'? Thanks for your help.

A: 5.56x45 ammunition featuring an M193 bullet will pass the magnet test. While some products are shown with XM193, this is essentially the same bullet. The "X" indicates that the ammo will be directed towards the civilan market. You will still receive the same quality ammunition made for the military.
(If you are target shooting in an indoor range, you will want to avoid the M855 bullets as they will fail the magnet test. These are good for any other application including outdoor target shooting!)
Q: Is this ammo safe to shoot in a 1980s era Ruger mini-14?

A: Your Mini-14 most likely has a .223 Rem chamber, and it is not recommended to fire 5.56 ammo through a rifle with a .223 chamber.

A: Federal's XM193 ammunition is made to military specifications and features a muzzle velocity of 3240 FPS. At 78 feet from the muzzle out of a 20" test barrel the XM193 projectile has a velocity of 3165 FPS.
