Details

Put this round up against any other mainstream or import .45ACP hardball load and it will perform just as good if not better than the competitor round. It’s just another of the many cartridges that Fiocchi is getting it 100% right with. The reliability and accuracy, along with the relatively clean powder and sufficient power to cycle in anything makes this a fantastic choice for those who want the 230 grain hardball load in their firearms for range or other uses. The reloadable brass and almost ridiculously low pricing relative to competitors makes this a serious no-brainer for the volume .45 Auto shooter.

The functional reliability is impressive; and this cartridge is equally at home in compact or full-sized firearms; carbines, rifles, or pistols; this Fiocchi 230 grain load is going to work every single time. It’s just been a phenomenal round for dedicated shooters of the caliber for a long time.

The relatively standard range for hardball ballistics is met with this round and yet it is sufficient to keep the firearms that shoot it functioning flawlessly. It puts out an 860 feet per second velocity and 377 pound feet of energy out of the end of the barrel.

A: We have found Fiocchi ammo to burn clean, similar to other premium brands available.

A: There are three base materials used to make cartridge cases. These materials are aluminum, brass, and steel. The nickel cases you see are actually nickel plated brass. Aluminum cases are inexpensive to make and lightweight, making them a good choice for general shooting. Steel cases are also inexpensive to make, although they are not lightweight compared to aluminum cases. Still, they are an excellent choice for general shooting, and most people never notice the weight difference between aluminum and brass or steel. Brass cases cost more because they are reusable, also known as reloadable. They have a value beyond their weight in scrap – people who reload ammunition want them because it saves them a great deal of money to do so. However, for people that do not reload, the choice often comes down to cost. While it is true that most modern firearms are designed to function with brass cases, the vast majority of them also function perfectly with aluminum and steel cased ammunition. You should try a small amount of each type to see what your weapons function best with and which type meets your needs.

A: This ammo does not have a lacquer seal on the primer. You might want to consider the Fiocchi Canned Heat ammo, which comes in a container that is specifically designed for long term storage.
