I'm not sure what others are complaining about. The price is about as low as I have seen it, delivery was quick--a day earlier than promised and comparable. The ammo shot clean and accurate. I bought the 500 round can, took it to the range, I sighted my brand new Bushmaster 5.56 M4 first at 50 yards and then at 100. It took a total of about a dozen rounds before it was shooting 1 inch groupings, at 100 yds, from the bench. We put a total of 300 rounds downrange--not one misfire, failure to feed, or failure to extract. I field stripped the rifle expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised to find only a minimal film inside the chamber. I pulled out the bolt carrier group and wiped it clean with a dry clothe. I just got a "spam" can to replenish my supply of .223 ammo. I have used a lot of this (Tula) ammo and this is the best price I've found. Sure, it's a little dirty, but for the price, it can't be beat. I have never had a FTF or FTE with this ammo, and a nice thing you can pick up your "brass" with a magnet. (I did have one double feed, but I think my grandson pulled the charging handle twice) BulkAmmo.com is an excellent source, too. My last order was ordered on the third and it was delivered on the 7th - from Atlanta, GA to Mead, WA in basically three days. The order was filled and shipped the same day I ordered. This ammo is for stock only but have shoot Tula in the box, and is very dirty. so unlike tide, I have to get the dirt out. I clean weapons after every range time. I have had no problems with Tula but maybe 1 to 1000 misfire or eject. For plinking or lead down range this is the stuff for me. (Posted on 6/25/2012)

I bought 1000 rounds of this ammo. It's a great deal and the ammo showed up lightning quick. I have noticed on warmer days 75+ after about 120 rounds I start to get fail to ejects (I have a Rock River with their heavy barrel). Now if I run Remington or Hornady in the same setting I can shoot all day long and never have an issue except I'm broke later on. So like I said you get what you pay for. This is good ammo, it's just super dirty. I would probably buy it again but only for the cooler months on the range. (Posted on 5/21/2012)

A: Hello,
These 55gr. FMJ rounds by Tula in .223 have a lead core. They do have steel cases though and sometimes use a bi-metal jacket so they will attract a magnet. For non-magnetic rounds, I would suggest a brass cased round.

The shelf life of these Tula rounds is very long. As long as you keep them in a low humidity location, they should last for decades without any issues.
