An awesome choice for prepping or long-term storage. These .308 rounds come sealed in a heavy plastic battle pack that's designed to keep your ammo ready to fire for decades.

When you want to reach out and touch something but your shooting budget is on a famine diet (aren’t ours all?), you are left with a couple of viable options. The venerable .308 Winchester is perhaps the most obvious choice for a slew of reasons.

>.308 Winchester, or 7.62X51mm is a NATO standard cartridge which means there are a LOT of firearms chambered in it around the globe. If there are lots of firearms in this chambering, then reason dictates that there is a lot of ammunition to follow, and brother, there is.

Prvi Partizan, often sold under the label of PPU in the states, is an old ammunition manufacturer located in Serbia hailing back to its inception in 1928. They have a solid reputation of importing really decent ammunition which is affordable, not “cheap ammo” per se. The 145-grain FMJBT is a good choice to buy for bug out bags or survival kits as it comes fully sealed in a battle pack.

It is also a perfectly fine option for zeroing in a new optic, or punching holes in paper at the range. Buying in bulk offers you a significant cost reduction, extending your fun days at the range, or potentially extending your life expectancy in a post-apocalyptic world. Either way, you aren’t going to go wrong buy picking up a couple battle packs of PPU .308.
