Details

Full metal jacketed flat nose .40S&W ammunition that is an exceptional range quality ammunition that can save you a ton of money when you’re practicing without having to worry about dirtiness or reduced reliability that is common with some of the value pistol loads available.

A 180 grain full metal jacket projectile is a good middle ground and gives a solid balance of heavy hitting, with good bullet mass and ease of feeding with good reliability. Because of these qualities certainly this round could be used for self-defense but it’s ideally suited for targets of the paper variety and for having fun on the range. It also fits those who do tactical training quite well, with the excellent reputation for reliability that Federal ammunition is known for.

It doesn’t quite match the bargain basement prices you can find on pure range ammunition, but it also doesn’t have as many finicky feeding or extraction or ignition issues as you usually get with those alternatives. Federal .40 Smith & Wesson delivers 1000 FPS and 400 ft. lbs. of energy at the muzzle which is consistently in line with higher end self defense loads, making it an ideal training round.

Suitable for use in all .40S&W firearms.

A: These rounds are new factory ammunition, not reloads. They have a lead core bullet that is copper plated - there is no exposed lead anywhere on the bullet.

A: FMJ ammo offers extra penetration, so if you line up your shots carefully, you can make more than one headshot at a time against zombies. The shipping weight is 40 pounds.

A: This Federal Champion ammo comes in 20 boxes of 50 rounds each.

A: This full metal jacket (FMJ) ammo is intended more for practice than for defense. Take a look at jacketed hollow point (JHP) ammo for home or self defense.

A: Yes, these Federal .40 S&W cartridges will function reliably in a Glock 22.

A: Yes, the 180gr JHP would be acceptable for hunting out a 6" barrel. The FMJ bullet would probably not do much more damage out of the 6 inch barrel than it would a 4 or 5 inch barrel.

A: If your weapons will function properly with hollow point ammunition, it (JHP) would be a better choice than FMJ for home defense.

A: No, you do not have to be present to sign for the package.

A: FN stands for "Flat Nose." Because of magazine length limitations, .40 S&W FMJ ammunition has a flat nose instead of a rounded nose like 9mm Luger or .45 ACP.

A: Yes, these cases are reloadable. As for how long they will last, that is hard to say, as it is dependent on the pressures you load them to, the techniques you use when resizing, and the specifications of your pistol's chamber. However, these cases are comparable in quality to any other factory brass case.

A: Federal is one of the highest quality manufacturers of ammunition today. Their Champion line of ammo is made with more budget-oriented components such as plated instead of jacketed bullets, but does not sacrifice quality in any way.
