I bought this ammo to try out because it was super cheap. Ammo ran well in my glock 23, but out of 500 rounds my slide failed to lock back twice on the last round. Ammo also seems to shoot a little softer then the other 180gr fmj I have used. (Posted on 9/17/2019)

I've gone through 400 rounds with my 1st Gen Model 22 that's seen thousands of rounds of several of the popular brands. For me, Tula ammo is good for the range, but I wouldn't trust my life with it. Of the 400, I had six jams and one bulged casing requiring disassembly. Personally, I don't mind the few jams as it reinforces my clear&engage

Using this in my Sig P250 40 cal.. Using another brand in my Sig P250 9. The difference between cleaning the two guns was amazing. The 40 required cleaning, but minimal effort. The nine had lots of residual powder and took twice as long to clean. Once I use up the 9mm ammo I'm switching to the Tula. (Posted on 5/16/2016)

I bought this ammo based purely on price just to give it a try. The rounds are fairly accurate, no complaints there but I did have quite a few rounds fail to load into the chamber properly (a problem I haven't had with any other ammo). Out of the 500 rounds I shot I'd say about 20 failed to load properly. Ok so i ran 250 rounds through my smith and wesson shield had one failure to extract at the 243 shot. Not bad ran the other 250 through my xdm 5.25 and not a single issue. I have a brand new M&P 40. I've shot half of this (250 rounds) but will get rid of the rest. I had two really bad jams today. So bad the slide wouldn't move at all. I have shot 1500 rounds through my S&W MP .40 cal. I see a lot of guys complaining about won't eject spent shell. My self I make sure my ammo is clean before loading it into the magazines. Had a few I caught that was sticky. wiped them down and all have shot no problem

Bought three boxes of 50 round each ammo for both 40 cal and 9mm. No problems with the 40 cal until the 111 shot, which failed to extract the shell case from the chamber. Took awhile to pound the shell case from the gun (with assistance of the range officer), and then found the shell was covered with black sticky polymer. Very little powder residue from the firings.
Just before my gun jammed, my son was firing his 9mm and had the similar problem, at shot # 42....weapon failed to extract the shell case.....also covered by black caked crude.
You may save a few bucks buying steel cased ammo, but its my opinion that its not worth the aggravation. We'll shoot up what ammo we have left, by alternating between clips of brass and steel shots, and shoot slower with the steel rounds so the chamber won't get so warm (recommended by the range officer).

This was the first brand of ammo I bought for my .40 XD. Shot nice and didn't have any of the notorious .40 muzzle flip. Since then I've shot 200-300 rounds each of Blazer, Remington, Winchester and range ammo as well as 500 rounds of Winchester JHP. I bought the TulAmmo again for some inexpensive training ammo and have been nothing but impressed by this product. I started looking up reviews and many people said it was horrible ammo and that it malfunctioned alot. I was weary when I went to the range but I ended up putting over 150 rounds down in my smith and wesson m&p40 with no problems at all. When I left and went to clean my gun, there was barely any carbon build up. Actually, it was cleaner than when I shot the more expensive brass ammo. So I bought this for my first handgun. Smith and Wesson m&p pro series. Range wouldn't let me shoot it. Said it would ruin my barrel which seems like bs because the round isn't steel. Just the casing. Well I had two flush mags of it in my case that got by them. So I wound up buying their expensive federal range ammo. So I shot a few of my Hornady hollows and they were ok. Then shot the Tula and was putting awesome groups together at 15 25 and 45 ft. This stuff was great and had no problems. Shot just as well as the expensive range ammo and better than my protection Hornady hollows. Just clean your guns after and you'll be fine. From my experience this ammunition has worked flawlessly in all of my pistols. I use TULA AMMO in my Springfield XD 40 Subcompact, and I use their 45 ammo in my Springfield XDS with no issues and thousands of rounds put down range. cheap reliable kinda dirty, it feeds perfect in my glock22, shoots strait and light recoil. good for target shooting. was chasing a can at 35 yards making it dance. but it is kinda dirty but what ammo isnt. just clean your weapon. no light strikes on primer or FTF or FTE. flawless performance out of a glock. probuly run into some issues with other weapons. my sw9ve sigma by s&W would light stike the primer. shes picky only likes more expensive ammo (Posted on 7/3/2012)

While I never had a malfunction after over 1000 rounds, there are a few drawbacks. The ammo is good for cost effective practice, but just be aware that it is not very accurate. It is also very dirty... after a day on the range 200 rounds leaves the same amount of carbon as if you had fired 500 rounds of quality ammo. This stuff will not feed in factory Glock magazines. I tried half a dozen relatively new mags, which work fine with other ammo, and the ammo seems to get stuck in the mags. Not sure if it's a friction issue (the casing on this stuff is rough), size, or it's hot out and it has somehow expanded. I will try again this winter and see if I can avoid throwing away 1000 rounds. Lesson: try one box of new cheap ammo before buying in bulk! (Posted on 7/27/2011)
