How do you make an already impressive 45 cal round that has sold many millions of rounds and been used effectively in thousands of defensive shootings with shockingly good results, even better? Remington does it by adding additional mechanical bonding, which even if it didn’t make the round any better; considering the price point, it still means Golden Saber cartridges are worth the money. Except that it does improve the 45 ACP round significantly.
This load is one of the more impressive of the Remington Golden Saber cartridges: the 185 grain jacketed bonded hollow point, which offers 1015 feet per second velocity and 423 ft. lbs. of energy at the muzzle. This is an impressive set of static ballistic numbers for a .45ACP, even if it is the lighter weight 185 grain projectile. More impressive though, is the uniformity of the expansion of these bullets and the weight retaining capabilities of the projectile. When you use the Remington Golden Saber, you know you’re getting the proper mechanical action that the bullet was engineered to do. Few bullets that are more reliable and consistent at this type of performance exist.
Brass that is nickel plated and a Boxer primer also make these an excellent choice for reloaders.
