These 50-round boxes of .45 Auto cartridges from Tula will
serve the needs of high volume shooters well. Offered at a bargain price, this
ammo uses non-corrosive Boxer primers and non-reloadable steel cases coated in
polymers specially chosen for their non-toxic content. The bullet itself is a
bimetal full metal jacket of typical 230-grain weight and achieves a muzzle
velocity of 850 feet per second. It will work well in any .45 ACP firearm
including the Glock 21, 1911, and Sig P220.
TulAmmo comes from the Tula Cartridge Works which, as the name suggests, makes its home in the Russian city of Tula south of Moscow. Tula Cartridge Works got its start as a contract supplier to the Russian Empire, manufacturing 210 million cartridges over seven years in its first contract in the 1880s. Today, the plant’s total output in one year reaches into the billions, and its exports to the US total more than 500 million. The company began producing steel-cased ammunition in the 1920s to take advantage of Russia’s plentiful iron ore deposits.

Good for plinking. Most indoor ranges refuse the use of this ammo. They say it has a steel core but the real reason is because this ammo is steel cased and not reloadable. (Posted on 11/9/2019)

I was suspect of this ammo based on the price and country of mfg. Shooting my pride & joy .45G Desert Eagle. I served on a Sub during the Cold War. I was pretty cocky & sure of our superiority. Ran 50 rounds through a new Remington 1911 with ZERO issues. Then switched over to Winchester white box and had 3/100 fail to feed. I'm sticking with Tula. (Posted on 1/12/2015)

I have burned through a couple hundred rounds of this. It is really reliable. Out of the rounds I've shot I have had less than a dozen not have a proper ejection. I use this for steel target shooting and it does well (Posted on 9/1/2014)
Leaves hard residue in chamber of Glock 36

Shoots and functions fine, however, in my particular Glock 36, after several rapid fire magazines full, which heated up chamber some, it left a really hard lacquer type residue in the chamber and what appeared to be minor scratches on the left interior of the chamber opposite to the extractor side of chamber. Using good quality bore cleaner it took forever to get residue out, and had to use emory cloth to polish out scratches. Gun is less than a year old, and was purchased new. Don't know if this is about the chamber of the Glock, or the steel cases which are polymer coated. Won't use this again in the Glock 36. (Posted on 2/20/2014)

I bought 300 rnds of this ammo which I have only put 150 through my brand new XD so far but there were no issues at all. It is dirtier than other ammo as others have said but it was pretty accurate. You should clean your gun after every use anyways so being dirtier is not a problem. This is definitely the best bang for your buck especially if you just want something cheap for the range that will still work really well. (Posted on 1/30/2014)

First of all well put by Patrick. But as for this ammo there are no negatives. I use it in both my Springfield XDS and my Taurus PT 24/7 Pro, and I have never had any issues with thousands of rounds. And it is no dirtier than the next round. But if you have a pistol with a worn out spring or that you shoot without proper cleaning, then you may have issues chambering every round correctly as these round are steel and not brass. Unless you're planning on a shootout, like brass cases or just like hollowpoints, save your money and buy this stuff. It works just fine. Its cheap but its fine for the range, plinking or hunting. One reviewer said its not a self defense round. Shoot a wild pig or a home intruder with a .45 and it won't make a difference how much you paid for the ammo. Others say its dirty. Pros clean their weapon after they shoot it. So should the new guys. I shoot it through a Springfield XDM and never had a misfire or any other problem. If it misfeeds or stovepipes, pull the slide back, chamber the next round and keep shooting like you would with any ammo that fails to fire. Tulammo's just fine. (Posted on 12/2/2012)

Ive shot about 3000 rounds of Federal ammo through my XD45. I bought Tul ammo thinking it's a good price. Out of a 50 box I had 12 misfires. After shooting this ammo I went back to Federal and of coarse I've never had a misfire since. I was told at a local gun store that Tul ammo is recommended more for 1911's. Also it's kind of dirtier then Federal ammo but I clean after every range use so that's not really an issue. (Posted on 10/24/2012)

I've shot over a thousand rounds of this stuff. Never had a single round fail to fire. I've had a few stove pipes, and a couple of failure to feeds. However, all problems have occurred after firing several hundred rounds. The ammo is a little dirty, but what ammo isn't. I've shot most brands of ammo on the market, some better some worse, overall this stuff is right up there in reliability. Bang for the buck? So far for me anyway, None compare!

I have shot this ammo quite a bit. Recently I had 1 box with 5 primer pops (no powder) out of 50. All rounds cleared the barrel. Mostly very reliable ammo,with that exception. (Posted on 3/16/2012)

Excellent ammo for a great price. I fired this ammo the through both my Rock Island CS and my Springfield Champion. I had no problems with either one. The only thing that I noticed was a little more dirt in the weapons after I was done. Overall this ammo was a great value. (Posted on 3/14/2012)

Bought this ammo because it was cheap, heard it was dirty but had some problems with my springfield xd jamming with some reloads I had shot previously so just wanted to try something different. The tul ammo did not jam once. It was a little dirtier than the other ammo but who cares, you should clean your gun after you shoot it anyway, you might spend an extra 5 minutes cleaning with this ammo, but it is worth it for the reliability. Considered to be "dirty" ammo - strange reputation, because it is one of the most reliable brands of ammo I have ever used. Only one pistol rejects this manufacturer's ammo - Sig Sauer p338 calibered in .380 ACP. To my opinion it is the pistol, not the ammo. (Posted on 5/27/2011)
