Details

If you want to cut the cost of shooting your 1911 or other .45 ACP pistol, try this 500 round case from Wolf (packaged in 10 boxes of 50 rounds each). Each cartridge in this case fires a 230 grain bimetal jacketed bullet at a muzzle velocity of 850 feet per second, producing typical .45 Auto ballistics.

This Russian-made ammunition uses non-corrosive Berdan primers and steel cases with polymer coatings for reliable feeding and ejection. While not reloadable, the steel cases contribute significantly to the lower cost of this ammo. Russia has a long tradition of making steel-cased ammo thanks to its abundant iron ore deposits.

A: Thanks for reaching out Larry! A bimetal jacketed bullet always has a lead core. Its jacket is made of steel, with a thin copper exterior layer. Steel makes these bullets magnetic, but the steel used to make jackets is significantly softer than the steel used to make barrels. The rate at which bimetal jacketed bullets wear out a barrel is only slightly faster than traditionally copper jacket bullets.
