One of the new breed of super interesting, revamped long range rounds that have seen soaring in popularity of late, the 6.5 Creedmoor, despite having roots way back to the late 1800’s, is for all intents and purposes new and superior.

The short version is this: 6.5 Creedmoor shoots flatter than .308; recoils less than .308; avoids wind better, is faster and hits harder than .308 with less grain weight. In all, that’s a spectacularly impressive set of ballistic information. It truly represents the benefit of engineering in the process of optimizing loads and delivering more performance from the “wildcat” type of load. Note: this isn’t a wildcat, but for comparative purposes, it has progressed like one historically.

As for this particular round: the American Eagle load offers a cartridge right in the sweet spot for the 6.5 Creedmoor platform without the extra cost that comes from “premium” producers. It’s a value play to grab more range time with your long range shooter. For a rifle capable of shooting sub MOA pretty easily, this ammunition is quite a bargain, considering it can achieve the same type of accuracy at a significant savings compared to typical 6.5 loads.

Made for shooting paper targets and pinging plates down range with high powered optics, or for medium/large game: this ammunition is suitable in any 6.5 Creedmoor rifle.
