I have been using Speer 9mm and 40 S&W pistol ammo almost exclusively for the past 7-8 yrs after finding it a clean and reliable. I do not reload. I buy 1000 rd blocks and have fired more than 18K rds of Speer Lawman. The last several boxes (of a 1000rd block purchased April 2019) of Speer 115gr 9mm have shown a distinct difference from prior loads. The ammo is dirtier, noticeably higher carbon residue, and shows tattle tale sparkler offshoots from the muzzle flash. Pistols fired are a Glock 17, G17L and SIG P210, not short barreled pistols. Apparently Speer has changed it's propellant and I'll be looking for another mfr. (Posted on 5/13/2019)

Have fired several hundred rounds through a CZ SP01, Sig-Sauer P226, and Browning Hi-power. No problems in the CZ or the Sig, but repeated failure to feed with the BHP. No problems firing Blazer, American Eagle, or Winchester through the Browning.
Bulk Ammo has consistently delivered orders rapidly and accurately, with good prices. With the Speer, it seems that my Browning is finicky towards it, but it eats everything else I get from Bulk Ammo. (Posted on 8/26/2018)

Shot over 5,000 rounds through my Glocks and my Sig Sauer . Never had one problem and it is clean.
I have my friends using it now because of my success with Speer.
I have tried other ammo and I find this to be the best for me.

I've run around 800 rounds of this ammo through my Sig with zero FTF and zero FTE. Went shooting today with some buddies and ran 300 rounds through in one session. Took apart and cleaned my weapon, it was cleaner after 300 rounds of this ammo than after running only 50 rounds of the ammo available from the local shooting range.

I have run 400 rounds through a Glock 19 from the 1000 i bought with one stove pipe. For now, it is just a minor inconvenience in my eyes. If I get more probs over the next couple of weeks, I will update and reduce the number of stars in the rating. I have exactly 1 month's worth of experience with guns. I put all 1000 rounds thru my new XDm 9 with zero issues. Even with my limp wristing 12 yr old daughter shooting.
Seems cleaner and harder hitting than PMC 124 grain. Not sure if that's due to a faster burning powder or higher velocity but it definitely has more kick.

I shoot almost exclusively on an indoor range due to lack of access to an outdoor range. Lead poisoning is real and TMJ is the safest ammo you can buy for indoor use.

I use these allot at the local range. I have fired 2200 rounds through my px4 subcompact and have never had a single failure. Their has been no stove pipes and this ammo leaves little residue behind. I purchased this product and the bullets were weighted wrong or something, it just didn't hit the target. I called a couple of my SWAT buddies to try it out and see if they could make it work, but the performance stayed pretty constant. After that i went and checked to see if somehow the problem was my gun so I went in to by brother's shop and had him check it out to see if there was anything wrong with it and a day later he got back to me and said that there were no problems with it. so then I went and tried a different gun to see if that would work and it didn't. so I have to come to the conclusion that this product just SUCKS. It may be cheap, but i know that i'm not getting stuff from this manufacturer anymore. (Posted on 8/31/2011)

The Speer 53650 and 53615 are identical in regards to ballistics. The difference is simply that the 53650 is the product number for the Speer Law Enforcement division of manufacturing.

In regards to ballistics, they are equivalent. The product number is different solely because the 53650 product comes off of the Speer LE manufacturing line.

A: This Lawman 9mm ammunition from Speer is steel free. Neither the bullet or casing are of a steel composition. The brass case is boxer primed and reloadable. Additionally, all components are non corrosive.
A majority, if not all brass cased pistol ammunition will have a steel free bullet as required by most indoor ranges. In addition to this Lawman ammo, Magtech, Remington, PMC, American Eagle, and Fiocchi are among those that will work for any indoor range applications.
The Tula, Silver, and Brown Bear rounds are great for outdoor range applications. However, these three do contain steel and may be prohibited in some indoor ranges.
Q: Any reported issues with this ammo in a Lone Wolf Glock conversion barrel?
I am looking for a good reloadable factory ammo to shoot in my conversion!

A: No issues have been reported to us with this Speer Lawman ammo, but Lone Wolf barrels are known to have a small failure rate. It would be best for you to test a small amount of ammo before buying in bulk.
Q: I am familiar with the FMJ term and what it does, I am not however familiar with TMJ, Is there any benefit to using this TMJ ammo?

A: TMJ ammo is totally encapsulated by the copper jacket, hence the name Total Metal Jacket. The somewhat misleadingly-named FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) ammo leaves the base of the bullet exposed, which can be an issue if lots of rounds are being fired at an indoor shooting range, because airborne lead levels will increase.
Q: I shoot Lawman Speer at the local range. It is the type with Lead free primers. Is this available in this product or another product you sell in bulk. We do a fair amount of training down range where the air handling system doesn't clear all of the air so it is important to all training to have the lead free option.

A: Federal is part of the ATK family of companies, which is one of the largest ammo manufacturers in the world. Federal manufactures the vast majority of small arms ammunition used by the US Military and is also widely used, along with Speer (another ATK company and manufacturer of Lawman ammo) by law enforcement agencies. They are not manufactured by or associated with Winchester or Remington, but stand on their own merits as world-class ammunition.
