Blazer really sets it apart from the crowd with their heat-treated aircraft-grade aluminum cartridge casings. Aluminum’s lower price tag than brass means Blazer able to offer their ammunition for less money, and furthermore aluminum’s lighter weight than steel makes for a significantly lighter round. Sure, you can’t reload aluminum, but if you weren’t going to handload anyway why not treat yourself to something new and exciting to chamber in your pistol?
This cartridge sports a 124 grain total metal jacket cleanfire bullet. Because the bullet’s lead core is totally enveloped in its jacket, hot propellant gasses are unable to evaporate the lead core when it’s fired. (It’s always a good rule of thumb to keep as much lead out of your body as possible. That’s why kevlar vests are popular among police officers.)
