A very nice option for those who trust their lives with the .40 S&W cartridge. This is a swift moving projectile that is designed for “Tactical Application for Police” and “For Personal Defense” hence the naming: TAP FPD. The bullet is literally design and optimized for human threat stopping. Yes, there are TAP rounds that are used for animals, but the ballistic subtleties are designed for use on human targets. The design is nothing new, but the optimization of the design includes some important features that do in fact improve the potential to stop a threat.

Starting with the reduced flash powder that offers improved follow-up after a low light shot. It is a clean/complete burning powder charge that improves consistency and gives better follow up for all types of shooters. The nickel plated case offers better slickness for the feeding concerns some firearm have, but they also stay clean for reloading and are corrosion resistant. The jacketed 155 grain hollow point is a Hornady XTP (Extreme Terminal Performance) that offers excellent reliability in expansion and large diameter expansion properties. It also gives better penetration to combine with this increased velocity (1180 fps); and the energy delivery is not too shabby at 479 pound feet at the muzzle.

Want to try out this “TAP” ammo but would like a slightly heavier load? We also carry the 180 grain version of this 40 cal ammo for sale here.
