Details

These .45 Long Colt loads from Speer are a great option for shooters that are limited to single action revolvers or lever-action rifles for defense, as well as for concealed carriers that want a more precise and potent load to stoke in an S&W Governor or Taurus Judge. Each cartridge is made using the basic staples of the Gold Dot line, including nickel-plated brass casings and hollow point bullets with bonded jackets. The nickel material helps to shrug off corrosion caused by moisture while also smoothing the entire cycling process for reliable performance in any condition. The bonded hollow point bullets penetrate deep into threat targets with maximum weight retention which translates to greater energy transfer to vital areas and a more positive stop.

A projectile weight of 250 grains sits in the middle of the .45 Colt spectrum for a balance between manageable recoil, flat-shooting trajectory, and effective terminal energy. Speer goes the extra mile by arming each bullet with a ribbed cannelure which helps it to resist accuracy-sapping jostling and dependability-ruining setback. Each reloadable brass casing is fitted with a non-corrosive Boxer primer which ignites a load of low-flash powder; the suppressed flash is intended to save a shooter from temporary blindness and to help facilitate quicker follow-up shots.
