This 5.56x45mm (5.56 NATO) cartridge by Federal features a 62 grain bonded soft point bullet. Bonding is an advanced method of controlling bullet performance that entails molecularly securing the lead core to its jacket. The process for doing so varies by manufacturer, but however it is accomplished it makes the bullet hold together remarkably well upon impact, retaining its weight to create a devastatingly deep wound in its target. This type of bullet performs superbly when it encounters heavy bone.

This bullet’s potential for damage is further bolstered by its soft point. That point gives the bullet performance like a hollow point’s upon impact, while still preserving accuracy thanks to its aerodynamic shape. Along with its non-corrosive Boxer primed factory new brass casing, which is suitable for handloading, 500 of these 5.56x45mm cartridges will keep your rifle happy for a long, long time.
