Federal Premium’s Black Cloud 12 gauge ammunition has created a new standard for hunting waterfowl. This #4 shell, 3 ½ inches long and 1 ½ ounces of steel shot, is a premium duck hunting ammunition for 12-gauge hunters. With high quality parts and consistent shot patterns, it is amazingly affordable for its sterling reputation. This line includes some innovative technologies that make it the premium ammunition that it is.
Black Cloud utilizes the Flitestopper steel pellets designed by Federal to have deeper penetration and larger wound channels for a more humane kill and fewer lost birds. The shot load consists of 40 per cent Flitestopper and 60 percent Premium steel pellets, optimizing spread and lethality. Also, with Federal’s Catalyst technology, the primers and propellants in Black Cloud shells burn cleaner, with less corrosion, and leave less residue after ignition. These shells also have increased moisture resistance for the avid duck and goose hunter. Providing a muzzle velocity of 1500 feet per second, these added features cause no loss in power—but instead give us a very fast, powerful, and lethal shot.
