This is Magtech’s premium line of defensive rounds, First Defense. First Defense consists of a solid copper hollow point bullets seated into a nickel coated brass casing. These rounds are constructed for reliable penetration, controlled expansion, and consistent accuracy. First Defense Ammunition is purpose built for self-defense.

Expect a muzzle Velocity of around 1100 feet per second with muzzle energy close to 445 foot pounds. This ammunition is brass cased and nickel plated. Hollow point copper bullets. Non Corrosive and reloadable. Ammunition is +P, which means it is loaded to higher pressures than “normal” ammo so you may want to double check with the owner’s manual for your pistol or carbine to ensure you fire this safely. Many shooters prefer +P rounds for self-defense because it tends to deliver a faster bullet.

A: Yes, nickel plated brass will not discolor like standard brass cases. It is a good choice for leaving a weapon loaded for a while, as you describe.
