We feel that James Taylor really sums up what’s so special about Mexico in his song “Mexico” when he sings “Oh, Mexico, Mexico, Mexico, oh, Mexico.” But if you want a more specific reason to love the South of the Border, Aguila is a good one. Their ammo is priced to make thorough target practice accessible to most anyone, but it still satisfies thanks to their attention to detail.

This round’s 180 grain bullet has got a flat nose, so it’s especially well-suited for firing on paper targets. So broad a meplat works like a hole punch at high speeds, which will make spotting where your shots have landed easier to do. Aguila’s full metal jacket delivers the benefits of reduced barrel fouling and better penetration downrange. The bullet’s ability to penetrate so effectively, in fact, is why it’s less than ideal for self-defense.

This round’s brass casing seats one of Aguila’s Non-Corr Boxer primers, and its concentric wall and precise belt make it a prime component for handloading. It’s a great deal on 1,000 of the cartridges you need to stay proficient with your pistol, and you don’t even have to leave home to get it!
