Your truck? Steel. The nails holding your house together? Steel. The plate you got in your skull after attempting to dive off the roof into a kiddie pool? Steel. The secret to paying less for 9mm range ammunition? Sterling Steel.
This ammunition is made in Turkey, but that’s not the only reason why it’ll set you back less than American-made materiel. Sterling loaded it with steel cases, which are cheaper to manufacture than brass for reasons that don’t beg elaboration. Sterling also loaded this ammo with bullets that attract a magnet, as their lead cores are armored in soft steel jackets (with copper washing to improve their appearance).
Sterling loads this ammo in accordance with C.I.P. specifications. Its maximum chamber pressure is lower than the 35,000 required by SAAMI, however, so no worries there. This ammo also won’t bother you with corrosion. Its primers’ residue can’t rust up steel.

Great value for the price, but definitely budget ammo. It tends to dirty the gun quickly, and not every round fires reliably. I experienced multiple failures to eject and a few light strikes where the round didn’t go off. Usually, reracking fixed it and I could keep shooting without issues. Good for saving money, but don’t expect perfect consistency. (Posted on 4/19/2026)

For anyone complaining about steel, my wallet thanks me. It does have the occasional ejection malfunction, but not nearly as dirty and bad as people say. I’m more than happy. (Posted on 3/19/2026)

Ammo is great in my Canik's TP9 & META
I have shot 1000+ rounds through each,
I do clean pistols each day after 50- 80 rounds each
Meta, may need hand cycles after 60 - 70 rounds (Posted on 3/12/2026)

This ammunition won’t run in my best gun much less my entry level collection.
It’s unreliable and inconsistent. I experienced every single type of malfunction possible.
It’s no good for the range and I sure wouldn’t risk my life by using it in my EDC.
Complete waste of money. Save yours. (Posted on 3/2/2026)

Q: If the casings are steel, are they prone to rusting? How long can these be stored?
Posted On: 4/20/2026 By: Shawn
A: Hello Shawn! Steel cases are more prone to corrosion, no doubt about it. That said, this ammo will last indefinitely so long as you store it correctly (sealed container, with silica gel dessicant, in a temperature controlled place away from direct sunlight). We still sell steel-cased ammunition that was made during the Cold War, and it works fine!
Q: So are primers corrosive or not?
Posted On: 3/2/2026 By: Jody Patterson
A: It's noncorrosive sir.
