This shell’s signature feature came straight out of Federal’s R&D into long-range hunting slugs. The TruBall system is named after its perfectly spherical plastic component. It sits in a socket formed by the base of the slug and the front of the wad, where it provides a point of 360-degree articulation so the slug may correctly align itself with the bore. It’s the slug’s secret weapon to promote tight, tight grouping.
