Details

This Silver Bear 7.62x54r ammo is great for firing in your mosin-nagant rifle. This ammo is loaded into zinc-plated steel cases topped with 174 grain full metal jacket projectiles. The Barnaul plant uses zinc on their higher end products to reduce the chance of corrosion due to zinc's inherent corrosion resistant properties. This helps increase the shelf life of their ammo and makes it perform better with moisture compared to standard steel cased ammo.

This ammo is non-corrosive, berdan-primed, and non-reloadable and is manufactured at the Barnaul Cartridge Plant in Russia where it traces its roots to the late 1800's.

A: Hi Ben. The Silver Bear line up of ammo is zinc plated so that there will be no coating necessary to feed and function perfectly and most importantly, very clean shooting.

A: Hello Tan, The Silver Bear is not a steel cored bullet, but it does use a bimetal jacketed bullet. This means that the bullet jacket contains steel and will fail any type of magnet test.
