Details

These Yugoslavian rounds are a perfect way to save some cash while enjoying plinking and practice with your post-1900 8mm Mauser JS rifles; this includes the nominal chamberings of 8x57mm and 7.92x57mm, but be sure to have your barrel checked if you are uncertain. As surplus loads, this ammo was manufactured around the 1950s but has been preserved via good storage environments and some keen component choices. Each cartridge features a brass casing that was properly annealed at the neck and shoulder for surefire chamber fit and safe pressures.

The base of the casing is fitted with a corrosive Berdan primer which requires greater rifle care over time, but lends itself to longer shelf-life and dependable function. This reliability was further preserved by the inclusion of primer pocket sealant which prevents moisture from reaching the inside of the cartridge. This load was topped off with a 198-grain full metal jacket (FMJ) projectile which is in the higher weight range for the caliber and matches a multitude of hunting cartridges and some other military loads as well; this allows for consistent recoil impulse and travel ballistics.

A: The brass would require quite a bit of work to convert to Boxer primers. On many calibers it would not be cost effective, however with this older Mauser it could be as brass is hard to come by for this caliber. There are many such threads on many forums discussing this. They will need converted as Berdan Primers are not commercially available in the US any longer.

A: Hi Thomas, This ammunition does not come on the stripper clips. It is packaged in individual boxes with 15 rounds per box. Thanks Thomas! Bill BulkAmmo.com
