As you might imagine, this
7.62x39mm Russian ammunition from Tula Cartridge Works is ideal for use in
firearms of Russian origin such as the AK and SKS. What’s more, it’s incredibly
affordable and uses non-corrosive primers. The 122 grain bullet, cased in a
bimetal jacket, achieves a muzzle velocity of 2,396 feet per second. Each round
uses Berdan primers with non-reloadable steel cases; the cases are coated in a
special non-toxic polymer that encourages smooth feeding and ejection.

I've shot this ammo in 7.62 and 5.56 and have never had an issue. I have a Rock River 5.56 that groups better with Tula than any brass I've run out of it. It's a little dirty but when you burn 1000 rounds a weekend who cares... (Posted on 1/7/2017)

I don't like to condone or condemn ammo on limited testing. I have 2000 rounds of this ordered from Bulk Ammo. My N-PAP AK is having issues, like FTE every 10-20 rounds, over a total of 500 rounds shot. I will not blame the ammo yet. I have run 250 rounds of brass case ammo and did not have issues. There are still variables to eliminate and I will keep shooting Tula until I know for sure the ammo is the problem. I'm also testing Tula in my AR's in 223.

I can't knock this ammunition at all. It performs... No duds... No cycling issues. I hear people saying that the coated case will dirty your firearm... Not much more than a brass case... I have fired around 1k rounds through my AK, and around 5k through my SKS. I have had some other ammo here and there, but this has mainly been it. I had feed issues on my AK which I found out was a mag issue, all feed problems centered around one mag I no longer use, and only 2 SKS issues I have ever seen were user errors introducing a friend to the platform.
No jams, fires the same every time, it just works. Is this match grade comp ammo, NO, if you need that, look elsewhere. You want some fun cheap target ammo for the range, or camping where you can shoot, this will do the trick all day long! (Posted on 1/10/2014)

I've fired thousands of rounds out of my wasr 10/63 and it's worked ever time without an issue. If your having an issue with it I would really think it's either your weapon or you happened to get the very few rounds that were mistakes. I also shoot brown bear too and when I load either one in the mag and shoot it I cannot tell the difference. I purchased 4 boxes of Tula ammo. I only managed to get thru three boxes before I was totally disgusted with this ammo and quit..... Out of the first three boxes only 30 out of 60 fired. 50% failure ratio..... If your life was depending on this ammo your already dead....... I took back the unused box and the 30 misfires and they only refunded for only the cartrages I returned... the price of this ammo has skyrocketed in the last couple of months and their quality has dropped to the bottom... My AR 15 chambered in 7.62x39 loves this stuff with zero failures to feed and I have only had 1 single failure to ignite in almost 1000 rounds! .......
WARNING > This is 'dirty' ammo, You must absolutely clean your rifle spotless inside after using it.
Since it is made with dirty powder it leaves a lot of carbon and fouling left over to dry and bake on and so it will start to build up a hard carbon film layer in the chamber and cause the cases to stick and fail to feed.
This will NOT be a problem in any way even in an AR such as mine "IF" you clean your rifle thoroughly after each use.
Scrub the heck out of the chamber with a wire type of tooth brush or combo chamber & bore cleaning rod brush with a good scrub.
This is a slower burning powder than American made ammo and so it will blow out a big ball of flame out of a typical 16inch carbine barrel.
SUGGESTION: For the AR's with standard old school direct impingement /DI gas system, keep the bolt and carrier group real wet with lube use a super slick lube such as CLP or your favorite lube and enjoy the cheap TulAmmo. (Posted on 5/31/2012)

Golden Tiger is hard to find, so this stuff will do. I've shot alot of Tula through my SGL 21 and have had zero FTFs, FTEs, or any malfunction. Darn accurate to 100 yards on my irons, but I'm going back to zero the red dot this weekend.

Ammo performs flawlessly in my Aresnal AK. No feeding, extraction, or ejection problems. Not a single misfire either (after nearly 1000 rounds). I've always heard that Russian ammo shots dirty but I really don't notice that too much with TulAmmo. Great value and service (rapid shipping). I'll definitely buy from BulkAmmo again. This ammo is worth every penny! I have been able to shoot small targets at 100yds consistantly with my AK47. Only downfall is that it is kind of dirty, but not excessively. (Posted on 1/5/2012)

I shot about 250 rounds out of my AK with no misfires or jams. Ammo worked excellent in that aspect. Good price and good reliability. Only drawback is the accuracy. It's good for practice but not dead on accurate. Also muzzle flash is huge! Which makes firing cool (Posted on 12/31/2011)

A: No, the hardened steel components of your Mini-30 are much tougher than the mild steel cases or the copper/steel/copper bimetal jackets used in this ammo.

A: This ammunition comes in 20rd boxes which are then packaged inside a thick plastic "bag" containing 500 rounds. The "bag" is quite durable and will help protect the ammunition from moisture.

A: This line of Tula 7.62x39mm ammunition is considered "bi-metal" which features projectiles that have a lead core enclosed in a steel jacket that is then enclosed in a 100% copper jacket or coating. This ammunition is considered magnetic due to the steel used in the projectiles so check your range to ensure that it doesn't have any non-magnetic requirements prior to purchasing!
