Why is this 12 Gauge shotshell by Federal only 1-3/4” long? Simple: Its diminutive stature means that you are able to fit considerably more rounds in the magazine! A Shorty Shotshell may hold a lighter shot column and less powder, but it really only takes one blast of this ammo to neutralize even the most determined threat to your personal safety. And you cannot count on showcasing your best marksmanship when you’re under a lot of stress!

This shell’s six pellets of Force X2 00 buckshot are exceedingly special, however. First of all they are copper-plated, which makes them harder and less capable of flattening down throughout ignition. That promotes a tighter pattern which lands more pellets on target.

More importantly, a Force X2 shot pellet is engineered to split into two pieces shortly after encountering resistance from soft tissue. In addition to potentially inflicting 12 separate wound channels, this round’s double-aught is also less likely to completely pass through the target. That reduces the chance of overpenetration which could jeopardize innocent bystanders!

This Minnesotan-made ammo may fail to feed reliably in certain pump-action shotguns which are not outfitted with special adapters.

A: Hell again Hernan! I'm afraid my first instinct was correct. Here's Benelli's opinion: "The Benelli M4 will most likely not only not cycle a mini shell due to being underpowered. It may also cause the shell to 'bounce' off the carrier and cause the firearm to jam because it is smaller than a standard 2 ¾” shell."
