It’s Hornady Match: the official ammunition of the Precision Rifle Series, featuring its manufacturer’s most advanced competition bullet to date. In no uncertain terms, if you’re looking for the most accurate factory-loaded 50 Browning Machine Gun ammo on the market … well, then you ought to look no further.

The A-MAX weighs a ponderous 750 grains. Its muzzle velocity is a little lower than a 660 grain bullet for that reason (2,815 fps out of a 36” barrel, as opposed to about 2,950 fps), but that just counts toward its formidable resistance to wind deflection and toweringly high 1.050 G1 ballistic coefficient. The A-MAX’s incredible balance is the work of its swaged lead core and Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket. Its ultra low-drag profile is that of its sleek polymer tip, secant ogive profile, and boat tail.

Ballistic performance varies significantly by rifle, shooter, and atmospheric conditions. That caution aside, here is roughly the 1,000-yard performance this behemoth offers (assuming a 36” barrel):
• 0 yards: 2,815 fps, 13,199 ft lbs, -3.0”
• 500 yards: 2,393 fps, 9,536 ft lbs, 75.3”
• 1,000 yards: 2,009 fps, 6,721 ft lbs, -0.0”
• 1,500 yards: 1,666 fps, 4,621 ft lbs, -293.6”
• 2,000 yards: 1,374 fps, 3,146 ft lbs, -904.9”

Stringent quality control. Carefully matched primers and propellant charges. The finest brass Hornady can draw. All of these go into the ultimate out-of-the-box .50 cal match ammunition.
