Details

This 10mm cartridge by Black Hills Ammunition of South Dakota is designed for a solitary application: stopping the threat as quickly as possible. But rather than the conventional jacketed hollow point you’re probably already accustomed to, it is loaded with the HoneyBadger!

The HoneyBadger is made of solid copper – hence its unusually light 115 grain weight. Its 1,600 fps muzzle velocity will not produce more pressure than a 10mm firearm is designed to handle, and its trajectory is flat as an arrow because of it. The HoneyBadger’s monolithic design enables it to eliminate barrel fouling, as well as penetrate barriers and soft tissue without shedding a significant percentage of its weight.

The HoneyBadger does not deform upon entering its target. Its fluted design enables it to actively engage any soft tissues it encounters and blast them away in lateral directions, producing a gaping semi-permanent wound cavity in the process. The HoneyBadger’s lack of a nose cavity means that it cannot become ineffective as a result of plugging up with fabric or other debris, which helps to reduce the risk of undesirable overpenetration.

This ammo’s 100% lead-free bullets would also make a fine choice for hunting small game on protected land. And while the HoneyBadger may be somewhat unusual, Black Hills’ noncorrosive Boxer primers and virgin brass cases are the same they use to load all their high-quality ammo.
