Mike McNett got his start in business when he set to work designing a more effective 10mm cartridge. Now his company Doubletap loads this mighty fine specimen of a self-defense round!

This round is loaded with a 125 grain lead-free solid copper hollow point bullet. Why solid copper instead of a traditional lead core and gilding metal jacket? Because in addition to reducing barrel fouling, the SCHP boasts excellent penetration depth consistency. Under normal circumstances this round’s bullet will excavate a 16.25” wound channel into soft tissue.

Any 10mm cartridge is set to inflict serious damage. This round’s lightweight yet fast-flying bullet strikes a 50 yard target with approximately 582 ft lbs of energy. (That is assuming you are firing a Glock 20. If you have a smaller Glock 29, you will have a muzzle velocity of 1,501 fps and muzzle energy of 626 ft lbs.) The SCHP doubles down on the 10mm’s innate stopping power by expanding to an average of 0.86” in diameter. In effect, the SCHP doubles in size to bore a massive permanent wound cavity into soft tissue.

Doubletap is headquartered in Utah, where they load high-quality brass, primers and propellant. They were even selected by Colt to produce the iconic firearm manufacturer’s officially branded ammo!
