When you see a bald eagle on a box of Federal cartridges, you know you’re getting a great deal. The American Eagle brand stands for its Minnesotan manufacturer’s high tech approach to production which saves costs without dampening performance!

This 223 Rem cartridge is a great choice if you’re going to be shooting over great distances or indoors. Its suitability for long distance comes from its relatively heavy 75 grain bullet, which is better able to resist wind drift as it spins downrange. It’s nice for indoors owing to its total metal jacket -- because such a jacket shields the lead in the core’s base from propellant gas, it yields a cleaner breathing environment where air circulation is in short supply.

This round’s nice price tag doesn’t go hand in hand with a crummy casing. Hang onto what your rifle pops out for handloading fun after the fact! Also expect this round’s clean sparking primer and powder to keep your rifle’s inner parts cleaner over the course of your shooting session.

We're sure you noticed that this round has a heavy bullet. "Big boned," to put it nicely. In any event, you may prefer to fire such a bullet through a barrel with a faster twist rate, to stabilize it for better accuracy.
