This cartridge’s 250 grain bullet is a boat tail hollow point, with a jacket drawn to a concentricity standard of ±0.0003 inches. The hyper-concentric copper sheathe is filled with molten lead so its core’s weight is evenly distributed in its tail end, thus enhancing rotational stability. All Sierra MatchKing bullet weights are standardized to within ±0.3 grains as well.
The streamlined MatchKing’s narrow meplat and ballistically efficient boat tail create very little drag in flight. The amount of standardization and optimization throughout every MatchKing guarantee the flattest trajectories, fastest downrange velocities and highest resistance to wind deflection possible.
