20 Rounds of .350 Legend Ammo by Hornady Subsonic - 250gr Sub-X

We got a name for the kind of hunter who hides out in the woods with a suppressed 350 Legend rifle, just waiting for his preferred game to enter his crosshairs. We call him a “Sneaky Pete” – and we sell him Hornady Subsonic ammo.

The secret to this round’s subsonic performance is no secret at all. Its chunky 250 grain projectile and lighter charge of flash-suppressed propellant total up to a muzzle velocity of 1,050 fps (for reference, supersonic is 1,125+ fps). That makes this round’s report pretty subtle even if you’re not firing it through a can. Drop is pretty steep; with 1.5” sight height and 100-yard zero, elevation at 200 yards will be about -35.5” (0.265 G1 BC).

This low-velocity round’s low velocity is no insurmountable challenge to its bullet. The Sub-X is designed to expand even when it reaches the quarry with relatively little kinetic energy. The bullet’s deep nose cavity is occupied by a pliant Flex Tip, which compresses and splits apart the surrounding grooved jacket. The Sub-X also features an InterLock ring, which prevents the sort of core/jacket fragmentation that causes shallow penetration.
