At the time of writing, Hornady manufactures exactly one type of 6.5mm Extremely Low Drag - eXpanding (ELD-X) projectile. This 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge, by Armscor? It has it.
This cartridge’s bullet is a real long-range slugger. Its InterLock ring prevents core/jacket separation to a degree that assures 50% or higher weight retention within 400 yards, but its warp-resistant Heat Shield tip and aerodynamically efficient DVRT flat meplat both equip it for precision over much farther distances. The ELD-X also features a boat tail and match-grade AMP jacket to keep it rotationally stable. All together, these features constitute a 0.315 G7 BC projectile that stays supersonic until approximately 1215 yards (assuming it hits its advertised muzzle velocity, which was taken from a 24” test barrel).
The ELD-X hails from Nebraska. It makes the short trip over to Montana where Armscor loads it with their high-quality reloadable brass case, as well as a noncorrosive Boxer primer.
