Black Hills’ regular red label ammo is high quality in its own right. But when the South Dakotan manufacturer wants to fill a Gold box they really kick it into overdrive!
This 6.5 Creedmoor round is match accurate, and it also does massive damage at the end of its rainbow. That’s because it is loaded with Hornady’s ELD-X. It has the original ELD’s precision engineered AMP jacket, sweeping secant ogive geometry, and low-drag boat tail. It also has the ELD’s signature Heat Shield tip, which is made of resilient polymer that doesn’t melt when it’s flambeed by air friction.
Unlike the ELD, the ELD-X is optimized for terminal expansion. Its Heat Shield rests in its core’s nose cavity so it can instigate massive mushrooming on impact. The ELD-X also includes Hornady’s famous InterLock ring, which mechanically secures the core and jacket together for up to 90 percent weight retention.
This Gold label round doesn’t actually contain gold, but its gleaming brass case is certainly valuable for the several times it can be reloaded. This ammo is non-corrosive Boxer primed with a temperature stable charge of clean burning propellant.
