Maybe it’s just because I’m a short guy, but I think being short is great! You never wind up hurting your back while bending over to pick up a dime, and you can buy surplus pants from the Mattel factory. That’s one of the reasons why I love 300 AAC Blackout short-barreled rifles. Fiocchi Hyperformance SBR Enhanced ammo is yet another!

The only way this round’s 125 grain bullet is staying subsonic is if you don’t fire it. It’s an SST, which is the sworn enemy of home invaders and wild oinkers alike. It’s accurate. It’s durable (thanks not just to its InterLock ring, but also its cannelure which binds its core and jacket together a second time). It’s also extraordinarily nasty after impact, as it’s designed to expand extra fast so as to send out a shockwave of crippling energy and subsequently carve out a cavernous wound channel. Yowza!

Fiocchi packs these Missouri-made cartridges with specially selected powder. Low fouling. Minimal muzzle flash. Manageable recoil. The propellant manages to deliver all three as it fully combusts within a barrel as short as 7.5”. That’s very short. I’m jealous!
