Your search for 40 S&W ammo which you can trust with your life has officially ended. You have found the Federal Hydra-Shok!

This 40 S&W cartridge’s 135 grain JHP bullet was developed specifically for the FBI. Optimized to exceed all of the government agency’s criteria for terminal ballistics, the Hydra-Shok features a notched jacket that makes expansion highly consistent and uniform. The Hydra-Shok further includes a unique post in the center of its nose cavity, yet another feature that delivers more predictable, almost “programmed” expansion.

This round’s propellant and primer work together to deliver a supersonic 1,200 fps muzzle velocity out of a 4” barrel, which conveys a muzzle energy of 432 ft lbs – certainly adequate for self-defense. In spite of its raw power, this round is also optimized to reduce recoil. That may very well help you to empty your magazine on a threat with greater accuracy.

This round’s nickel plated brass case provides corrosion resistance, and further reduces friction to prevent a failure to extract from compromising your ability to defend yourself. And with a whole case of these potent rounds you’ll have what you need for either range training or the kind of emergencies a handgun is best suited for dealing with.
