What is this? Upland game hunting for hippies who wear patchouli oil and never clean their dirty beards? Nope! Federal Premium’s Upland Steel ammunition is made for all varieties of hunters.
• Hunters whose morals compel them to avoid firing lead?
• Hunters who boldly adventure to places where they can’t use lead?
• Hunters who intend to eat their trophies, and would rather said trophies’ meat never come into contact with lead, which you’re generally advised to eat as little of as possible?
They’ll all love this Minnesota-made 12 Gauge ammunition!
You’ll certainly be one of them once you’ve observed this shell’s #5 steel shot in action. All in all, it’s fairly unremarkable steel shot; uniform in dimensions, to be sure, although not plated (which isn’t as important for ammo that’s intended for upland game and not waterfowl). What really makes the shot special is its muzzle velocity. When that 1-1/8 ounce payload of 216 #5 shot pellets bursts out of the muzzle at 1,400 fps, you can be darn sure it has the juice it needs to slide downrange right quick and kill.
