MAXAM’s top brass are smart. When the Spanish explosives conglomerate wanted to sell more ammo in America, they went ahead and built their own factory in Marshall, TX. That facility was completed in 2015, and currently produces untold thousands of rounds of shotgun ammo for hunters, law enforcement officers, and dudes who just want great 410 Bore ammo for trap, sporting clays, skeet, and the time-honored pastime of plinking.
This 2-1/2” shell is as small as a 410 Bore comes, and chambers equally well in shotguns, revolvers, and deringers. The #9 shot pellet is so tiny that even a diminutive 410 Bore is able to cradle over 290 of the things. And in addition to a thick pattern, this shell delivers respectable energy downrange – a testament to its hearty 1,200 fps muzzle velocity.
Save those hulls! The 410 Bore isn’t exactly the easiest shell to handload, but Rio’s empties are well worth the effort.
