It is good to have a whole lot of 38 Special ammunition!
Why is that? Because it is bad to run out of 38 Special ammunition! (This is what we call the “Secret to Life.”)
If you want to make sure you’re all set in the 38 Special department for a reasonably long time – or tuck a nice little stash of it somewhere safe until an indefinite point in the future – then you’ll love this field box by Winchester. It’s packed with 300 rounds of Winchester’s USA series white box ammo, and it’s sturdy enough to keep going after its original contents have long been emptied.
These are nice, simple range loads: not optimal for defense given their 130 grain FMJs’ inability to expand, but right on target for regular training and plinking. The bullets’ hard copper jackets reduce lead fouling in revolvers, and also promote surer feeding in lever guns (those flat nose profiles are A-OK for tube mags, too).
Winchester’s USA label ammo is their most affordable target shooting option, but it’s by no means low tier. New brass cases, nonmagnetic projectiles, and dependable (and noncorrosive) Boxer primers prove as much!
