We tried making model airplanes once. That lasted for about 30 minutes – roughly long enough to find out what an X-Acto knife can do to a pinky. When we compare our dedication to a craft to that of Federal, who have been making high quality ammunition for one century, we can’t help but feel a little bit jealous.

This 10mm cartridge from Federal’s Champion label showcases the Minnesotan manufacturer’s vast experience in full. Loaded with a 180 grain full metal jacket bullet, it’s a cost-effective solution for shooting at things which could never fight back. The FMJ’s ability to prevent bore fouling and feeding jams makes it the bullet of choice for range shooting, and this particular bullet’s broad tip helps it to punch a tidier hole through a sheet of paper. You won’t have to guess where your shots are connecting after you’ve already riddled the same target several times!

Federal’s brass is reloadable as a rule, and the exact tolerances to which it has been drawn and cut let it swim through any weapon capable of cycling it. This round’s Boxer primer sparks up clean and reliably, and its propellant is carefully loaded to create an even 1,200 fps muzzle velocity out of a handgun.
