A Safeguard label cartridge is optimized for all barrel lengths. You’ll certainly get a lower muzzle velocity than 968 fps if you’re firing a snub nosed revolver, but the jacketed hollow point bullet still delivers effective terminal ballistics for personal protection at lower speeds. Swedish engineering produced a 158 grain JHP that penetrates barriers intact and expands in soft tissue reliably, which are the two performance attributes you deserve when you’re in the kind of situation that can only be improved by your revolver.
