This is Federal Personal Defense Punch, specifically – designed for the kinds of dangerous encounters civilians typically face, and not for the rigors of law enforcement. That primarily means the Punch jacketed hollow point isn’t meant for defeating very tough barriers, although thick clothing is no match for the JHP’s robust jacket and dense lead core.
The Punch JHP’s jacket? Not bonded to its core. Its nose cavity? Not filled with polymer, or some other material designed to accelerate expansion. It doesn’t need these features to excel at its intended function, though, and is shown to deliver reliable terminal expansion at conventional 380 velocities.
This ammo has sealed primers. A little extra protection against the wetter elements. Good thing for self-defense ammo to have.
