Details

Approximately 126,000 Winchester Model 1903 rifles were manufactured up until 1932. It’s a good firearm if you can find one -- it’s easy to transport thanks to its takedown mechanism, utilizes an uncomplicated blowback operated mechanism for self-loading, and has an attractive walnut stock. Of course, any rifle that hasn’t been produced for the better part of century is going to present its owner with one glaring challenge: finding ammo for it. Aguila feels your pain, which is why they make this fine cartridge available by the case.

This round has a 45 grain lead round nose projectile, a cost-effective bullet that’s as good for plinking as it is sending small pest creatures off to see their maker. (Squirrel heaven is a never ending expanse of oak trees and seed bells; Squirrel heck doubles as dog heaven.) ELEY, who specializes in the production of rimfire ammunition at their United Kingdom factory, made this round’s non-corrosive primer, and Aguila tests their rimfire products to Olympic shooting standards.

Let’s throw in one more disclaimer. Please, under no circumstances should you try this round out in a firearm chambered for 22 LR, 22 WMR, or anything other than 22 Win Auto -- only Winchester’s Model 1903 will do the trick.
